Are our products delicious?
Very. Next?
Why is grass-fed better for us?
It's the natural diet for all cattle. And as they're happily grazing open fields they eat a wider variety of plants making for healthier animals. We also work with many coastal farms as the sea spray makes for mineral rich pasture (and healthy animals).
Why should we be eating organs?
Organs have long been the most revered part of the animal. What our ancestors knew by instinct, we know by nutritional science. Organs are the most nutrient dense parts of the animal.
Which also means you only need to eat a little bit, a few times a week. Exactly as you get in our products.
What about the cattle & carbon story?
Lots of brilliant work has been done recently to show that a well-run farm – like the ones we work with – captures more carbon than it emits. It's the interaction of ruminant animals with the soil that makes the magic happen, locking CO2 away.
The problems we hear about in the news occur when you have big, industrial, feed-lot farms. We'd never support that kind of farming.
Nature needs animals as well as plants to thrive. It's all part of the wheel of life. And the more robust that wheel is, the healthier the climate.
Are our products certified organic?
No. The organic movement is a brilliant thing. But as a start-up, we couldn't justify the costs involved in gaining the certification just yet. You can rest assured that we only work with the very best regenerative, independent British farms and farmers who produce grass-fed meat to the highest standards.
Do you deliver fresh or frozen?
We deliver fresh (and chilled), so you can choose what to put in the freezer, what to put in the fridge and what to chuck straight in the pan.
We'd recommend ordering for a day you know you're going to be in, to prevent any of this goodness going to waste.
What is the best way to defrost Oath Food Co. products ahead of cooking?
Overnight in the fridge. But if you're in a hurry, you can sit them in water (inside a waterproof container) for an hour or so and they should be alright. Food is an art not a science.
