WE CALL IT NOSE-TO-TAIL CULTURE

Nose-to-tail culture is a belief that we can find goodness in everything.

In every part of the animal, of course.

It's why we make our products the way we do.

But in the way we farm, too.

In the farmers themselves.

In the soil they tend to.

In the craft of our butchers.

In our sustainable packaging.

In everything we do, say & make as a brand.

And you know the best thing about culture?

It’s something we share.

Come, we're going back the way we came.

OUR PRINCIPLES

OUR FOUNDING PRINCIPLE:

Grass-fed & nose-to-tail foods

It’s a simple one. Eating nose-to-tail and grass-fed is the healthiest way to eat because it’s how we’ve always done it. The evidence is in the numbers. Organs from grass-fed animals are far higher in almost every micro-nutrient than other foods – the nutrients we need more than ever today.

And if you prefer a less scientific argument, ancient cultures treasured these parts of the animal without knowing anything about nutrient density. No one’s ever found a cave painting of a salad.

THE WAY IT USED TO BE:

Regenerative agriculture

A regenerative farm is part of nature. An industrial farm isn’t. And the more nature we can support, the healthier the planet is. This age-old farming method restores the water cycle, enhances the health of soil and captures huge amounts of carbon in the process. It’s the only way we’d do it. This is also why we only work with independent farms.

Big companies are disconnected from the land that they profit from. Only by working with independent farms and farmers do you find true custodianship of the land. It means more to these people. Many of them have been caring for the same piece of land for generations and – with our support – will continue to do so for generations to come.

ONLY THE BEST:

Craft & heritage

We work with Lidgates of London, the oldest family run butcher in the city. There are almost 150 years of craft within those four walls passed down through five generations. Supporting this storied craft matters as the world gets increasingly automated. There’s nothing like the perfect imperfections of the human touch, especially when it comes to making food.

IT ALL BEGINS IN THE SOIL:

Sustainability

For us, sustainability starts with our farming methods. As a company we aim to leave the world more alive than we found it. But of course, it extends to our packaging too which is all natural and recyclable.

A TRIBE FOR THE FUTURE:

Community

Beneath all of the rigorous practices we support is a far softer one. Whatever you put on your plate, the healthiest meal is the one you share with those you love. There’s science to support this. But no one needs a study to tell them that sharing food is one of the things that makes life worth living.

As we grow, we hope to create a thriving community around our food too with meet ups and dinners around the country. Come, pull up a chair.
